Soon we will be marking the first anniversary of StandWithUs UK, the recent addition to the 10-year-old StandWithUs family. For most people who know Israel enough, or are simply well informed of the situation, standing with her comes naturally. Moral conviction makes standing against lies, misinformation and half-truths tremendously easy; there is simply no other way.

Since the successful "Israel in Focus" conference at the Israeli Embassy in London last November, we have been working ceaselessly to create a network of educated and empowered individuals across the UK, from both the Jewish community and beyond. We have facilitated events with experts and unique speakers, mobilised supporters for campaigns, contributed to training workshops and provided top-quality updated information material. Most importantly, we have simply been there: dynamic, creative, swift-acting and responsive as much as we could, keeping an ever alert and watchful eye on relevant occurrences.

We have been fortunate to work with exceptional people and organisations and we look forward to the year ahead.

It will often be tremendously difficult, but fortunately, and as our name suggests, we do not enjoy sitting on the fence. We prefer standing.

And we stand with Israel.
